Opening Soon: Valentine’s Day Pop-Up at Union Station
A new pop-up bar is coming to St. Louis Union Station, Feb. 1-28. Violet’s at the Train Shed will offer unique drinks, including the Ooh-Bae Martini (espresso martini with ube cream) and White Rose (a frozen rosé colada with fresh raspberry).
Violet’s decor is romantic and Instagram-worthy — heart-shaped everything — and the perfect backdrop for date night or galentine’s pics.
AT&T Tower Redevelopment Gains Steam
Plans for the vacant AT&T Tower could transform one of Downtown’s largest empty buildings into a veritable virtual city — and help spur more revitalization. The Goldman Group of Boston, which owns the 1.4-million-square-foot tower, envisions it as 600 apartments with a high-tech parking system. (First Alert 4/KMOV)
Help Shape the Future of Gateway Mall
From the Gateway Arch to Energizer Park, the Gateway Mall connects key civic and cultural destinations along Market Street Downtown. Great Rivers Greenway and other community partners welcome the public to attend an open house to learn more about proposed updates: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 4:30-7:30 p.m., at Spark St. Louis in Ballpark Village. (Great Rivers Greenway)
The Urbanites — the young professionals’ group of the Landmarks Association of St. Louis — will host a unique, Valentine’s Day-related event to ”shower” the iconic Railway Exchange Building (600 Locust St.) with love Saturday, Feb. 8.
The STL Heart Bomb Event begins with a presentation on the historical importance of the Railway Exchange followed by craft time at Hotel St. Louis. Then, participants will walk across the street to place paper Valentine cards on the building’s exterior, creating conversations for passersby. Registration is required.
From up-close encounters with playful otters and mesmerizing jellyfish to hands-on touch pools and a breathtaking 250,000-gallon shark exhibit, the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station has something for everyone.
The aquarium is home to a rare blue lobster named Lord Stanley. The “one in two million” lobster was donated to St. Louis Aquarium in honor of the St. Louis Blues' historic 2019 National Hockey League Stanley Cup win. (Dive in for a 30-second tour.)
