ST. LOUIS’ INDIAN POPULATION EXPANDS, THANKS TO GROWING COMMUNITY, RICH OPPORTUNITIES
A region rich in jobs and educational opportunities is a major draw for St. Louis’ Indian population, now the metro’s fastest growing demographic group. The St. Louis metro offers foreign-born immigrants community and access to quality jobs at major corporations, as well as an expanding array of Indian festivals, food, and other cultural touchpoints, helping their new home feel more familiar. And when immigrant communities thrive, they help grow the economy.
“When they [immigrants] set up a business here that helps the local community — especially all these people with STEM degrees — when they set up companies here, that creates jobs and that can uplift the local community," said Sneha Rajan, the Indian Outreach Coordinator for the St. Louis Mosaic Project.
