Transformation of one of the St. Louis metro’s largest economic assets took a significant step forward this week as the Federal Aviation Administration announced it has started an official environmental assessment of St. Louis Lambert International Airport’s recommended plan to consolidate Terminals 1 and 2 into a single modern terminal.
“The airport is not only the front door to our metro for travelers from around the globe; it is also one of St. Louis’ most critical economic assets,” said Jason Hall, CEO of Greater St. Louis, Inc. “Transforming our airport is a top priority for the business community and we look forward to continuing our hands-on support for this work.”
A recently released report from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry indicates that the number of tech jobs in Missouri is growing, with tech jobs in St. Louis, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County exceeding more than 5% of total jobs.
German security company frogfish Corp. plans to open a new office in Clayton, the company’s first North American facility, with plans to create 20 new jobs. The expansion will “contribute to the growth and innovation of our expanding tech sector, a key strategic priority for the metro,” said Maggie Kost, GSL’s Chief Business Attraction Officer.

A new website and brand will welcome visitors to St. Louis County — and help it compete with other metros in winning new residents, County Executive Sam Page unveiled during his annual State of the County address this week.
“Our region’s population has been stagnant for decades,” Page said. “We can’t compete against ourselves. We must work as one. We want the Austins, the Nashvilles, and other metro regions that have done a fine job of branding themselves to know that we see you, but we are competing with you.”
Alberto Musalem in April will step into the role of President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, succeeding James Bullard. The experienced economist aims to “promote a strong, resilient, and inclusive economy.”
Sabarras George, former leader of the Detroit Zoological Society, will become the new Director of WildCare Park in St. Louis County — a $230 million attraction set to open in 2027 — announced the Saint Louis Zoo, a GSL Chair’s Council member.
St. Louis-based Tierpoint, an IT services provider and an executive-level member of the GSL Chair’s Council, is expanding, thanks to the acquisition of a multimegawatt data center in Fort Worth, Texas. Led by Chairman and CEO Jerry Kent, TierPoint owns 40 facilities in more than 20 U.S. markets.
