NEWLY LAUNCHED TAYLOR GEOSPATIAL ENGINE AIMS TO SEND GEOSPATIAL INNOVATION TO MARKET
Further strengthening St. Louis as the nation's center for geospatial technology, the newly launched Taylor Geospatial Engine kicked off its first program this week, with the goal of connecting geospatial research with commercial opportunities. Thanks to a founding investment from GSL Founding Chair Andrew C. Taylor, TGE is a “sister organization” to the Taylor Geospatial Institute, with both organizations working in tandem to advance geospatial technology and the metro’s growing geospatial sector.
“The success of the engine is one of the criteria of the success of the institute and I think to me this is the power of St. Louis. We don’t have the bubbles of academia, industry, and government. We’re generally all here together,” said Nadine Alameh, executive director of TGI.
FORBES LISTS 3 ST. LOUIS COMPANIES AS BEST LARGE EMPLOYERS
Three St. Louis companies have landed on Forbes’ list of the country’s Top 100 Best Large Employers. All executive-level members of the GSL Chair’s Council, Edward Jones, Washington University in St. Louis, and BJC Healthcare were ranked favorably by this annual survey of employees.
2024 CHANGEMAKER: CENTENE’S SARAH LONDON NAMED TO CNBC LIST
CNBC has named Sarah London, CEO of Centene — an executive-level member of the GSL Chair’s Council — to its list of 2024 Changemakers. The group includes women founders and leaders who have “left an indelible mark on the economy and business world.”
ST. LOUIS RETURNS TO SXSW, TAKING STLMADE INNOVATION TO GLOBAL THOUGHT LEADERS
For the second year in a row, Greater St. Louis, Inc. will spearhead the effort to bring a delegation of STLMade leaders together at South by Southwest, one of the world’s leading innovation conferences. The delegation will organize under the STLMade banner and speak with a unified voice about the resurgence taking place in St. Louis.
“Geospatial technology, agtech, startup culture, arts, food, and more will showcase the innovation renaissance taking place in St. Louis,” said Maggie Kost, GSL Chief Business Attraction Officer.

EVOLUTION FESTIVAL RETURNS TO FOREST PARK THIS SEPTEMBER
Evolution Festival, which last year drew more than 25,000 attendees to Forest Park, will return in September of this year, bringing with it a broad mix of national acts and even bigger crowds. Organizers released the line-up for the two-day event this week.
